Retro Vibes

Sometimes it's good to know where things came from, to fully understand how they've developed into what they are now. That sounded vague didn't it. We're talking about the evolution of the snowboard. Parker Duke decided to take a trip down memory lane to a time before he was even born and cutomize his snowboard into something a little bit more primitive and resembling a torpedo, for a test run at Mt.Hood.

He had this to say:

"I had a board that was pretty beat up from hitting rails and urban stuff most of the winter, so my friend Ted and I thought it would be sweet to cut up our old rail boards for the last day on hill at High Cascade a.k.a. "Vacation". It surprisingly hung in there and is extremely fun/dangerous. Riding switch is definitely not an option on that board - immediate scorpion."

You can see this beast in action at the 00:50 mark in the video below.

August Snow

Weekend am shred A.J. Ogden sent this nugget in the other day. Made us want to quit our jobs (not really), and get out and have some good ol' fashioned D.I.Y. fun. He had this to say:

"Went on a little nature hike just south of McCall (Idaho) and found some remaining snow and some homies had some little things set up to play on. It's no High Cascade, but still fun to kick it in the sun on top of the world and slap some metal."

A.J. keeping the year around snowboard dream alive, even in August. We like it.

What's on Eddie's Camera, pt. 2

It's been a while since our first installment of "What's on Eddie's Camera" (sorry about that). Here's part 2, with a road travelin' theme (which Eddie does a lot of during the winter). We're guessing this wastaken sometime in January or February.

The tools of choice to get from A to B

Appropriate road-travelin' tunesLooks like a promising direction to head inIndeedLooks like a huge pain in the ass to have to wipe fresh snow off your windows in the morning so you can get yourself snowboarding in it.
